What The Seniors Think About The New Hub

What the seniors think about the new hub.

Kia Ora Guy's It's me Jake I'm here again with another awesome post.

So as you should know that the senior school has moved and I'm here to talk to you about how the seniors like the new hub. I like the new hub because of all of the cool colours and the collaborative working.

What I am worried about is the distracting kids that distract me in my learning time so I can't work properly. How to make it not happen, By moving away if they follow tell a teacher about it to say it's annoying.

Kia Ora,  My name is Jake I'm 10 years old I go to Gilberthorpe School and I'm a year six. All the subjects I like are.... Math's, Writing, reading. I like playing with my friend at school I like to go dirt bike ridding in my spear time with my dad.

I like to eat chocolate, chips, mix vegetables with my meat. I like swimming at the pool or the beach. I like my awesome teacher Miss Waho.

This morning I woke up had breakfast and went onto mathletics I bet my hi score my old hi score was 26 but now I have 29. That's what made me a speed demon. I hope Miss Waho has now gave me some math homework.

Moving Class

Moving class [YAY]

Thursday 7th of september 2017 the hole entire senior hub has moved to our new building now we work as a collaborative hub. This  move might of took a long time but now I regret saying that we will never move in the new senior hub.

We all used to be just normal class's like Rimu, Rata, Tawa. I liked those class rooms and I will miss them too but now were in a new cooler looking building and it is so so so so so awesome I actually can't believe that we have now moved into the new hub. I'm not going to lie this is the best class room I have ever been in we also have some apple t.v's in there and some box's called cubby holes that's were we put our bags, right now we don't have enough for all of us so some of us are sharing like a real collaborative class/senior hub.

That's all I have to say about the new building for now Bye

The whole school went to timbernook to play with all of the fun stuff like building huts and building weapons to fake fight each other and there were swings off the hills there and it was the funnest time in the world my heart was pounding like a tiger roar here is a slide about timbernook

Term Reflection

My Favourite thing about this term is year six camp because we got to go tree climbing and eat lots of yummy food. I liked tree climbing because I got out of my comfort zone because I went really high and then my legs started to shake and I had to come down. After Tree climbing we went to survival skills and those were my favorite things at year six camp.

My favorite thing at school was numeracy because I liked Xtramath and mathletics.I also liked Writing because we did a animal information report.

MY Favorite subjects  are writing,math and Art. We also did kiwi can and what we do at kiwi can is we play games that relate to respect,integrity,positive relationships and our kiwi can leaders are kattie and recce.

All of us are working on a anzac slide and they are all just anzac facts.

I know I remind you about your mum because you don’t get to see her. I’m writing to you because at night time you squeeze me to hard and it just has to stop.

Now can you just stop it maybe you can squeeze Mr Cuddles instead because he’s a bit stronger than me please stop.

I love you as much as you love me and we’re basically just  brothers and actually you mean my whole world to me just the one thing I don’t like about you, you keep squeezing me and squeezing me and how many times do I have to tell you STOP IT OK!!!

How to play silent ball

This is how you play silent ball.

I like silent ball because you get to be as quiet as a mouse and as still as a stick bug.

What you need to play:

All you need is a ball and if you are playing outside you might want some cones to make a square big enough to fit everyone in they all need to be spread out like a meter away.

If your really quiet you can play you will need up to five people or more.

Step 1. Judge will count down 3, 2, 1, silent the person with the ball is supposed to pass the ball around.

Step 2. The judge gets to make rules while the game is going like stand on one foot, throw with one hand, close one eye, hot potato,  If you're a boy you have to pass to a girl and if you’re a girl you have to pass to a boy and no pass backs those are the rules the judge gets to make up.

Step 3. You have to be silent and not allowed to move if you talk or move your out and have to sit down.

Step 4. Tips that you should use be as quiet as a mouse stand as still as a stick bug.

Do really good throws and try your hardest.

How do you know you have won well the last person standing is the winner and then the game is over and if you want to restart the person who won is the judge.

Today Rimu class done a test called Learning Styles it tells us what type of things that we like to do a lot like my top three are talking a lot and sing, music also do stuff on my own.

My story about the port hills fire

This is my story about the port hills fire 

I was first scared when I noticed it It looked pretty cool at night time but then I had the feeling that I feel really really sorry for the people who lived on the port hills.

I got home and went outside to play then I saw a huge blazing fire on the port hills. I ran Inside and told my dad and he said what I was like go have a look and he did go have look. Then he ran inside and started packing just incase we would get evacuated but we didn’t get evacuated.

Then I heard a car crash because It was too busy looking at the fire one person got injured by breaking their arm the car looked really wrecked and damaged.

Glass on the road the front of the car was pushed right into the inside the airbags were out ambulances and police were there and one of the people had to get cut out of the car.

When I went out to play I saw a huge blaze. I was a little scared then I ran inside and turned my computer on and went on youtube and searched up port hills fire. Someone was already filming. He was right next to the burning hot blaze and he was getting a little bit of ash on the camera then…

He started running and the video ended there. I really wonder what happen to him and I hope he was Ok.

The fire got under control and got put out now I feel really safe and protected now because my dad will not let me get hurt that’s the reason why I fell protected. The reason I feel safe is because the fire is put out yaaaay!!!!!!!
